CLINTONS CLAM UP ON PARDON QUERIES

Sen. Hillary Clinton and husband Bill stonewalled when asked yesterday about the FBI's growing activity in Pardongate.
"I'm not talking about that thing," the freshman senator said after a Midtown immigration event.

Manhattan U.S. Attorney Mary Jo White is probing whether Sen. Clinton played a role in her husband's pardons of four convicted swindlers from an upstate Hasidic village and whether first brother Roger Clinton shook down pardon applicants for cash.

Bill Clinton's spokeswoman, Julia Payne, refused to turn over the list of six pals Roger Clinton wanted pardoned, saying she didn't "want to violate people's privacy."

Payne said she didn't know where Roger's list is.

"I don't know if it's in the archives or got tossed out or what," she said.

Roger Clinton has denied promising pardons for cash, but has said he gave Bill Clinton a list of six pals to pardon and got despondent when his request was refused. Roger has never revealed which of his pals were on his list.

A key question is whether the list of six included Garland Lincecum of Roanoke, Texas, whose brother claims the family was shaken down for $200,000 by a group of Arkansas men who claimed Roger Clinton could deliver a pardon.

Lincecum's lawyer, Ed Hayes, said the FBI is checking bank records in Arkansas to see if the allegations are true and, if so, whether Roger Clinton was involved.

The U.S. attorney also reportedly is probing whether Little Rock, Ark., restaurateur Phillip Young paid Roger Clinton $15,000 for a pardon.

The federal probe involving Hillary centers on the Rockland County Hasidic village of New Square, which voted 1,400 to 12 for her in the U.S. Senate race a few months before the swindlers were pardoned.

FBI agents have conducted - or scheduled - interviews with at least three New Square leaders about a meeting that Hillary attended with leaders of the village last August.

HENCH adds: I don't care WHAT it is, just so long as they both CLAM UP FOREVER!
